Corporate Counseling and Consulting

Does Your Company Need A Mental Counselor or EQ Consultant?

Engaging a corporate mental health consultant is the mark of an emotionally-intelligent and principle-led organization. In my experience, organizations that are committed to reducing the stigma around mental health, and where leadership acknowledges that they have a responsibility to the people they employ create more optimal, healthier and productive work environments. Contemporary corporate settings center on technology, information process, business development, networking and strategy. How well a company does and the most successful infrastructure is rooted in its people.
Our belief
Although many people spend long hours working, they also have a life outside of it. That life is likely to include personal challenges, adverse events, and periods of reduced mental health and wellbeing. Each individual’s life circumstances will impact them at work, and will likely have ripple effects across teams and departments. Even on the best days, stress can prevent us from being fully focused and doing our best work. And too much of it can lead to burnout, disengagement, more sick days, and strained relationships in the workplace. In the wake of COVID-19, it’s never been more critical for businesses and HR leaders to address the mental well-being of their teams head-on. Understanding how to practice EQ (Emotional Intelligence) at the intersection of CQ (Cultural intelligence), supports the functional development of team building through effective communication and Cognitive Empathy across the board.
*A strong propensity in emotional intelligence increases one’s ability to make sound decisions, build and sustain collaborative relationships, deal effectively with stress, and cope to a greater degree with constant change.
*Cultural Intelligence begins with the motivation needed to work well with others. Understanding the kinds of differences that describe one group versus the next, without resorting to stereotyping specific cultures, and being able to adapt behavior when the situation requires it.

Using compassionate connection to cultivate skills needed in ethical leadership. This helps to bridge the gap and optimize leadership by getting individuals aligned towards a corporate value structure & desired outcome through self concept. This also helps to create small leaders in different departments (middle management) and help leaders manage high level emotionally charged people/situations.

"One critical element that cultural intelligence and emotional intelligence do share is, in a propensity to suspend judgment—to think before acting. It involves using your senses to register all the ways that the personalities interacting in front of you are different from those in your home culture yet similar to one another. This cannot be done without compassion. & empathy. Compassion is a daily practice and empathy is a skill set that is a powerful tool of compassion. ” -Keyonna Monroe
What to expect
Counseling consultants use their knowledge of people (not psychopathology) to enhance corporate performance. We do this by optimizing organizational results by altering people's behavior inside the organizational system. As a corporate counselor, I support individuals to reach a state of optimal wellbeing where they can better access their full potential in all spheres of life – including the workplace!

*DISCOVER THE IMPACT OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE(EQ): Learn the four focus areas that, when combined and practiced, set the foundation for being an emotionally intelligent manager who empowers team members to drive effective and exceptional results.
*IDENTIFY YOUR LEVEL OF EQ: Through engaging activities that inspire self-evaluation, recognize your EQ strengths and pinpoint areas ripe for intentional development within each of the four focus areas.
*PRACTICE EQ SKILLS: Participate in interactive exercises that strengthen your EQ muscles while practicing simple yet powerful skills that you can implement immediately to make a difference in your team interactions. Each skill discussion will conclude with work on developing an action plan for the participants.
*DEVELOP PRODUCTIVE EQ HABITS: Design strategies and tactics to regularly implement EQ skills to form positive and productive habits that can empower you to become a people manager others want to follow.

Each learning session can be delivered to groups or individually, in-person or virtually and can be adapted for a variety of audiences, group sizes, and business contexts. Prior to the workshop, you will meet with Ms. Monroe to discuss nuances of your specific company and team to ensure the workshop is delivered in a way that resonates deeply with participants.
VIRTUAL TRAINING: During each session, participants will come together to listen to the presentation, work in small breakout rooms, participate in polls, complete reflection questions and activities, and engage in group discussions through a remote learning environment. The workshop sessions will include an e-workbook for participants to follow along with and write in. This delivery option is a great tool to bring remote teams together to learn and develop as a group.

IQ states, you are smart in a specific topic, therefore I want to listen to you.
EQ (Emotional Intelligence), says you understand me, therefore I want to follow you. Ms. Monroe came to our annual conference and taught the priceless gift of self-awareness. We left with a better understanding in what ways we need to improve our empathy, open our minds and challenged unconscious biases. We gained awareness of of how we can build stronger relationships, that allows us to make better nd effective decisions. Behind all our titles are leaders who lead with EQ not power or ego.

Ms. Monroe's courses have been truly helpful in how we as a team connect with each other. We’ve seen significant benefits of investing in developing these EQ and CQ skills. The employee populations who experience these programs tend to have higher retention rates, mange stress related tasks, increased performance and even created a more mindful culture here. I’ve had a number of program participants tell me that the training not only made them a better leader at work but also a better partner/ spouse/ parent/friend etc. – more equipped to navigate the world we live in.

Ms. Monroe has a way of teaching with impactful kindness and makes the learning of her courses impactful and fun. I’ve personally seen team members leverage the EQ strategies in high pressure situations and always set the better example as a result. They are enabled to not to get triggered by people, challenging them to stay calm and come up with innovative solutions more collaboratively.
