WHO WE ARE

Pretty2Me is a nonprofit organization that teaches young girls from 9-17 years old the importance of self-love through LYF (Loving Yourself First). Our mission is to improve the lives of young girls by providing a series of comprehensive programs that foster self-acceptance, self-love, and individual responsibility as the foundation for personal success, community involvement, and societal change. We are dedicated to promoting social awareness and evolution, driving economic and systemic change, and nurturing mental and emotional wellness.

Through our programs, we strive to empower young girls to embrace their unique identities, celebrate their strengths, and cultivate a deep sense of self-acceptance and self-love. We believe that by nurturing their inner confidence and resilience, we can equip them with the tools to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams fearlessly. Moreover, we recognize that personal success is intricately linked to community involvement and social awareness. Our programs aim to ignite a sense of responsibility and empathy within young girls, inspiring them to actively engage in their communities and become agents of positive change. We encourage them to recognize and address social injustices, challenge systemic barriers, and advocate for equality and inclusivity.

We are committed to driving economic change by equipping young girls with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary for financial independence and empowerment. We believe that by providing them with opportunities to develop their economic literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership abilities, we can help break cycles of poverty and create a more equitable society. We also recognize the significance of mental and emotional wellness in the holistic development of young girls.

Our programs prioritize fostering emotional intelligence, resilience, and well-being. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where they can explore their emotions, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and build supportive relationships. Through our holistic approach to empowerment, we envision a future where young girls grow into confident, compassionate, and socially conscious individuals. By embracing their personal power, they will lead the way towards social evolution, challenge systemic inequities, and contribute to a more just and harmonious world.

Learning Through Sisterhood: Fostering Safety and Community in Student Education

In an increasingly interconnected world, education goes beyond the traditional classroom setting. It encompasses a holistic approach that recognizes the importance of emotional well-being, support systems, and a sense of belonging. A social sisterhood organization plays a vital role in creating an environment that encourages students to learn, grow, and thrive together. By fostering safety and community, such an organization empowers students to reach their full potential and prepares them for a lifetime of success.
A social sisterhood organization creates an environment that nurtures students' academic, emotional, and social growth. By emphasizing safety and community, such organizations empower students to embrace their individuality, build meaningful connections, and excel academically. Through collaboration, mentorship, and advocacy, students learn not only from their teachers but also from one another, fostering an enriching educational experience. By instilling a sense of belonging, support, and compassion, these organizations lay the foundation for lifelong learning, personal success, and a commitment to creating positive change in the world.

THE PROBLEM

  1. Mental Health Issues: Troubled teenage girls without proper role models and support systems may be more susceptible to mental health challenges. They may experience higher rates of depression, anxiety, self- esteem issues, eating disorders, and self-harm behaviors.

  1. Risky Behaviors: Girls lacking positive role models and guidance may be at a higher risk of engaging in risky behaviors such as substance abuse, early sexual activity, and involvement in unhealthy relationships. They may also be more vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking.

  1. Educational Challenges: Without proper support, troubled teenage girls may face difficulties in their academic pursuits. They may have lower school attendance rates, decreased motivation, and decreased academic achievement compared to their peers.

  1. Teen Pregnancy: The absence of proper role models and guidance can contribute to higher rates of teenage pregnancy. Without appropriate support, these girls may face increased challenges in completing their education, pursuing their career goals, and providing for themselves and their children.

  1. Emotional Well-being: Troubled teenage girls may experience emotional distress, including feelings of loneliness, low self-esteem, and a lack of self-confidence. The absence of positive role models and supportive communities can exacerbate these emotional challenges.

  1. Relationship Difficulties: Girls who lack proper role models and guidance may struggle with forming healthy relationships. They may have difficulty setting boundaries, making positive social connections, and developing the necessary skills for healthy communication and conflict resolution.

Providing young girls with access to mentorship programs, counseling, and supportive communities can be instrumental in helping them navigate challenges and improve their well-being.

Statistics claim that 7 out of 10 girls believe they are not good enough or don't measure up in their looks, performance in school, or relationships. By the end of middle school, most girls are considered depressed and have low self-esteem (which plummets at 12).
This leads to immeasurable consequences such as eating disorders, obesity, bullying, early sexual activity, suicide, cutting, etc 400,000 youth are in foster care in the United States.
